I've been having fun with this for awhile but aside from installing the widget in my sidebar, I don't think I've shared A Google A Day yet. If I were still in the classroom, I think I'd be using this as an additional "tech literacy" tool (center style if I didn't have enough 'puters). Further, I think I'd still be using an iGoogle page as my class homepage and I'd embed the Google A Day widget (see my sidebar) onto that page or even my class blog. If you use Chrome, there's A Google A Day app in the Chrome store too. It's a great way for students and others to hone their search skills while picking up an interesting fact a day. I'm just sayin'....
;-)
P.S. In the same vein...take a look at Smarterer...for a few moments today I was top o' the heap in the Blogger area. ;-D

Understanding SOPA and PIPPA Before It's Too Late
There are a few days left to stop this abomination. Bombard your representatives. Already some have withdrawn their support of these bills...keep calling, emailing and if possible, visiting your representatives!
SOPA/PIPPA Time is Running Out to Stop This Epic Fail!
The vote is on the 24th...that's mere days away! If you don't know about this you should take a few minutes (you don't have much more time than that to act! ) to inform yourself. This is the first step down the proverbial "slippery slope". You can Google or start with these links below but please don't just sit there!

Doodle 4 Google 2012 Theme: If I Could Travel in Time, I'd Visit...
It's Doodle 4 Google time! Again this year parents, teachers, or after-school programs may enter a K-12 student. There's no cap on the number of students an adult may enter but there is a limit of one submission per student.
The National winner's submission will be the Doodle of the Day in May and be awarded a $30,000 college scholarship, a trip to New York, a Google Chromebook, Wacom digital design tablet and a t-shirt with their Doodle. Their school will also receive a $50,000 technology grant. Other prizes are listed here.
Get started here and get to doodling! Good luck!
