Install Prey and forget it until your phone or computer goes missing.  Then you just wake it up via a message from the Internet or SMS message.  Prey will allow you to gather information about the device's location, network status and possibly even get a picture of the thief with the device's webcam. Compatable with Windows 2000 and newer, Linux and Mac OS X 10.4 and newer. Now if they'd only add a command to electrify the device....shocking!  ;-p
